Desolated
All alone in a desolated empty field,
Protecting my inner with an iron shield.
When you came nearby, I could only growl in your face,
Now I see my hurt has brought me to this empty place.
I just kept my defenses high, so you could not see,
I wanted you to soothe my pain, like the birds do the tree.
Took this shot at the banks of the river Maas outside Roermond. And wrote the poem 2013-03-11.
When we’re in pain, a lot of times we act the opposite way we actually should… Do allow friends to come nearby you and DO lower your defenses…
