Ode to the Netherlands

My Netherland is flat like a coin, yet beautiful in many ways,
My heart loves the rivers, creating many little lakes, when floating slowly to the sea,
The windmills will always adorn the vastness of your horizon,
Cows, horses will be grazing in your extensive lush meadows,
Forests, tree lines and open flower fields as far as one can see,
Purple heath brings great delight for the eyes lucky enough to view it,
When you are not so lucky, you will see nothing due to the visiting thick fog,
Soon the landscape will open up again, trust me, I've seen it happen so many times,
I could brag all day, is it just me? Or should you come over to see for yourself?

Took this photo in Ohé and Laak, it's a little lake formed by river Maas. I wrote the poem 04 December 2017. I hope you enjoy the view and my braging about my home country. Specialy in my youth I've seen a lot of it's water, for I was born and raised on a river bardge!
